Volunteering at L’Arche Ottawa:

Some volunteer opportunities or needs include helping to prepare and share a meal with members of the community, one-on-one peer relationships, recreational activities, gardening and music, and administration. In addition, those with an interest in and/or experience with Outreach (i.e. Public Speaking, Fund-Raising, Event organizing).

Some volunteers are long-term members of a community who develop deep and meaningful connections with other members. Other volunteers may come for a season or a project.

Examples:

• Cook with Us: Volunteer in a home by helping to prepare and share a meal.
• Meet New People: Volunteering in a Community Inclusion Program.
• Lend a Hand: Help with special events.
• Become a Part of The Team: Volunteering in community or spiritual life activities.
• Get Involved With Nature: Helping with maintenance, gardening, etc.
• Develop Close Connections: One-on-one peer friendships.
• Make a Key Difference: Helping with fundraising.

We also encourage people who want to volunteer to propose any activities they may like to do with our Core Members.

Partnerships can take many forms, including financial support, in-kind donations, or collaborating on projects and events that promote inclusion and belonging.
